Key points

  • Depop's selling fee is 0% in the US, UK and Australia.
  • You still pay a payment fee: 3.3% + $0.45 in the US, 2.9% + £0.30 in the UK and 2.6% + A$0.30 in Australia, charged on the item, shipping and taxes.
  • Boosted Listings cost 12% of the sale in the US and UK, and only when a boosted listing sells.
  • On a $25.00 item with $4.99 shipping, a US seller pays $1.44 in fees, 4.8% of what the buyer pays.

Where the selling fee went

Depop removed its selling fee market by market. The UK went first, then the US, then Australia. The dates below come from Depop's own announcements.

The pages we read give the UK and US dates for new listings. We did not confirm what applies to listings created before those dates.

Zero selling fee does not mean zero fees. Three charges are left, and one of them is paid by the buyer.

The payment fee is the one you always pay

The payment fee is charged by Stripe, Depop's payment processor. It is a percentage plus a fixed amount, and it is charged on the item price, the shipping and any applicable taxes, not on the item alone.

One sale in each market
MarketBuyer paysSelling feePayment feeYou keep
United States$29.99$0.00$1.44$18.05
United Kingdom£29.99£0.00£1.17£18.32
AustraliaA$29.99A$0.00A$1.08A$18.41

The same sale in each market, in local currency: 25.00 for the item, 4.99 shipping, 6.00 item cost and 4.50 label.

Here is the US sale step by step, using the same figures as the Depop calculator.

  • The buyer pays $29.99: $25.00 for the item and $4.99 for shipping.
  • The selling fee is $0.00.
  • The payment fee is 3.3% of $29.99, which is $0.99, plus $0.45. That makes $1.44.
  • After the $6.00 item and the $4.50 label, you keep $18.05.

The fixed part bites on small sales. On a US item of $10.00 the payment fee takes 6.3% of the buyer's total, and on $100.00 it takes 3.7%.

Payment fee by item price (4.99 shipping charged)
MarketItem pricePayment feeShare of the buyer's total
United States$10$0.946.3%
United States$25$1.444.8%
United States$100$3.913.7%

AustraliaA$10A$0.694.6%
AustraliaA$25A$1.083.6%
AustraliaA$100A$3.032.9%

If you charge sales tax, the payment fee grows a little, because Depop includes applicable taxes in the amount it processes. The Depop calculator has a tax box for that.

Boosted Listings

Depop says Boosted Listings cost 12% for new boosted listings in the US and UK, from 23 Mar 2026. You pay only when a boosted listing leads to a sale.

The base depends on your shipping. With a Depop Shipping label the fee is on the item price. Without one, shipping is added to the base, so the same sale costs more to boost.

How Depop compares on the same sale

Run the same $25.00 sale with $4.99 shipping through other US marketplaces and the seller fees differ a lot. Depop takes $1.44, Etsy takes $3.30, Whatnot takes $3.17 and eBay takes $4.48. Vinted takes $0.00.

That is a comparison of seller fees only. Depop and Vinted buyers pay a fee on top, and that can change what a buyer is willing to pay. Etsy, eBay and Whatnot take their fees from the seller's side.

The buyer marketplace fee

Buyers pay a marketplace fee on top of the item price. Depop publishes only a ceiling: up to 5% of the item price plus up to $1.00, so on a $25.00 item the most it could be is $2.25.

It is paid by the buyer and not taken from you. It still matters for pricing, because the buyer sees item price plus this fee plus shipping.

Selling from other countries

If you are outside the UK, US and Australia and sell in a currency other than pounds, dollars or Australian dollars, Depop's seller fees page lists a 10% selling fee and a PayPal fee that varies by location. We do not have a per-country table for those markets.

Setting a price for the profit you want

With no selling fee, the price you list is the profit you want, plus the item cost and label, plus the payment fee, minus any shipping you charge. The payment fee depends on the price, so the calculator solves it for you.

List price for a 10 profit
MarketProfit wantedList pricePayment fee at that price
United States$10.00$16.67$1.16
United Kingdom£10.00£16.43£0.92
AustraliaA$10.00A$16.37A$0.86

Same costs as above, 4.99 shipping charged. Computed by Find price in the Depop calculator.
