Facebook Marketplace fees, answered
How much does Facebook Marketplace take from each sale?
On a $30.00 item with $6.50 shipping, the selling fee is $3.65 (10% of the $36.50 the buyer pays for item and shipping). It is 10% of the whole transaction, with a $0.80 minimum per order.
Is there a fee for local pickup?
No. Local pickup has no selling fee, so a $30.00 item you bought for $10.00 leaves $20.00. The fee applies to shipped orders paid through Marketplace checkout.
What is the minimum Marketplace fee?
Meta states a minimum of $0.80 per order. It applies to orders under about $8: a $5.00 item with no shipping would cost $0.80 in fees, not $0.50.
Is the fee charged on shipping and tax?
Yes, the fee base is the item price plus delivery fees plus applicable taxes. With 8% sales tax on the default sale, the buyer pays $2.92 in tax and the selling fee becomes $3.94 instead of $3.65. The tax is not your income, so it is shown for information only.
Is the label cost part of the fee?
No. Per Meta support the selling fee covers payment processing, and the shipping label is a separate cost. Enter what you pay for the label and it comes out of your profit.
Where is shipped checkout available?
Per Meta support, checkout with shipping is only available in the US, so this calculator covers US sales only. This comes from Meta's support assistant on the help center rather than from policy text, so check Meta's help center if it matters for you.
When do I get paid?
Per Meta support, the payout is initiated 15 days after you mark the item shipped or 5 days after it is delivered, then takes up to 5 more days to arrive. This is the assistant's wording and not policy text, so check the article "When you'll get paid for selling with delivery".
Did the Marketplace fee double?
Sellers and trade sites report that the fee rose from 5% to 10% in April 2024, and 10% with a $0.80 minimum is what Meta's Seller Protection Policy page states today. We could only find the date on a secondary source, so it is not in our change log.
Are there other Marketplace fees?
A chargeback can cost $20.00, and carrier weight adjustments can be passed on to the seller. Neither is part of a normal sale, so the calculator leaves them out.
How do I price an item to hit a profit target?
Switch the calculator to "Find price", then set the profit or margin you want. It solves for the item price that leaves exactly that after the fee, including the minimum, using the same rounding as the main calculator.

How we checked every number
Every number on this page comes from one data file, checked against Meta's pages on 19 Oct 2026. The calculator, the worked example, the table and the FAQ all read from it, so they cannot disagree.
The 10% fee and the $0.80 minimum are on Meta's Seller Protection Policy page. Country availability and payout timing come from Meta's support assistant, so we label them per Meta support and not as policy text.
What we could not confirm or do not model
- Where the fee comes from: the 10% and the minimum are on Meta's Seller Protection Policy page. The help center article 'What is the Marketplace selling fee?' could not be read in full, so the figures match but the article text was not compared word for word.
- Country availability, payout timing and the item price limit for Seller Protection came from Meta's support assistant on the help center, not from policy text. Per Meta support, shipped checkout is US only; treat that as medium confidence.
- Fee history: sellers and trade sites report the fee rose from 5% (with a flat fee at or under $8) to 10% in April 2024. Only a secondary source gives that date, so it is not in the change log.
- Meta states the minimum as a per-order amount. We apply it once per order, not per item.
- The fee base includes taxes. We take the tax you enter as a percent of item plus shipping, rounded to the cent, and it is not part of your income.
- Per Meta support the selling fee covers payment processing. Third-party processors you use outside Meta may charge their own fees, which are not modelled.
- Not modelled: the chargeback fee, carrier weight adjustments passed on to the seller, Marketplace ads and boosts, and Facebook Shops or Commerce Manager fees, which are a different product.
- Local pickup has no selling fee. Meta states this without a country limit, but the calculator only covers the US.
