Who pays the fee
The buyer does. Vinted's help pages say there are no selling fees on Vinted. The full item price goes to your Vinted Balance, and the fee Vinted charges is added to the buyer's side at checkout.
Vinted's pages now call it the Vinted fee. It was formerly called the Buyer Protection fee, so older articles and forum posts use that name.
| Market | Item price | You receive | Buyer fee (estimate) | Buyer pays, before postage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | £25.00 | £25.00 | £1.05 to £2.80 | £26.05 to £27.80 |
| United States | $25.00 | $25.00 | about $1.95 | about $26.95 |
| France | €25.00 | €25.00 | about €1.95 | about €26.95 |
| Germany | €25.00 | €25.00 | about €1.95 | about €26.95 |
The same 25.00 item in local currency. Postage is extra and is usually paid by the buyer.
What Vinted publishes about the fee
Vinted publishes a description, not a formula. In the UK its pricelist, updated 8 Oct 2026, says the fee is usually 3% to 8% + £0.30 to £0.80, and that the figure includes VAT. In the US the pricelist says the fee is usually 5% + $0.70, including sales tax.
The France and Germany pricelists give 5% + €0.70 in the same way. We read those two through a page summary rather than directly, so treat them with a little more caution.
| Item price | United Kingdom (£) | United States ($) | France (€) | Germany (€) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | £0.60 to £1.60 | about $1.20 | about €1.20 | about €1.20 |
| 25 | £1.05 to £2.80 | about $1.95 | about €1.95 | about €1.95 |
| 100 | £3.30 to £8.80 | about $5.70 | about €5.70 | about €5.70 |
Worked out from the published range or usual rate. The real fee on an order can differ.
The UK has a range because the percentage and the fixed amount both change with the order. The US, France and Germany have one usual figure, so the table shows a single amount.
What you actually receive
Your income from a sale is the item price. On a £25.00 item that cost you £6.00, you keep £19.00, because no Vinted fee comes out.
The one change comes from postage. Buyers normally pay it, but if you cover it yourself it becomes your cost. At £4.50 of postage the same sale leaves you £14.50.
- The full item price goes to your Vinted Balance.
- The buyer pays the Vinted fee on top of the price, so you do not need to raise your price to cover it.
- The fee can still shape what buyers will pay. A buyer sees the item price, this fee and postage together.
How to see the real fee on a listing
Because the exact fee is not published, the most reliable check is on Vinted itself. Open a listing at a similar price and look at the checkout total, which shows the fee for that order. Use it to see what your own buyers will face.
Vinted's pricelists carry their own dates, and they change. The UK and US lists were last updated on 8 Oct 2026, and the France and Germany lists on 5 Oct 2026. Check the pricelist for your country before you rely on any figure here.
Postage
Vinted says postage is paid by the buyer and depends on the parcel size, the route and the carrier. It does not publish a single table for it, so our calculator only takes postage you pay yourself, which is normally nothing.
If you choose to offer free postage, the cost is yours. Put it in the postage box of the Vinted calculator and the profit figure drops by that amount.
Pricing when you pay no fee
With nothing taken from your side, the listing price for a target profit is the profit plus the item cost. The part to watch is the total the buyer faces.
| Profit you want | List price | Buyer pays, before postage |
|---|---|---|
| £5.00 | £11.00 | £11.63 to £12.68 |
| £10.00 | £16.00 | £16.78 to £18.08 |
| £20.00 | £26.00 | £27.08 to £28.88 |
Item cost £6.00, no postage paid by you. The buyer figure uses the published UK range.
Extras and what is not in the numbers
In the UK, buyers can add Item Verification for £10.00, or £5.00 for electronics. It is optional.
