The short answer
Vinted pays the UK seller more on every sale in this comparison, because it charges the seller nothing. Depop has no selling fee either, but its payment fee comes out of what you receive.
The table runs the same item through each app. On Depop the buyer pays £3.50 shipping and you pay the same for the label, so shipping nets to zero. On Vinted the buyer pays the carrier at checkout.
| Item price | Depop payment fee | You receive on Depop | On Depop with a Boost | You receive on Vinted | Vinted pays more by |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| £10.00 | £0.69 | £9.31 | £8.11 | £10.00 | £0.69 |
| £25.00 | £1.13 | £23.87 | £20.87 | £25.00 | £1.13 |
| £50.00 | £1.85 | £48.15 | £42.15 | £50.00 | £1.85 |
| £100.00 | £3.30 | £96.70 | £84.70 | £100.00 | £3.30 |
Computed by the Depop and Vinted calculators with no item cost. The Boost column assumes a Depop Shipping label and the 12% boost fee.
What Depop takes from you
Depop removed its UK selling fee for new listings from 20 Mar 2024. You still pay 2.9% plus £0.30 per order to Stripe, charged on the item price, the shipping and any taxes.
On a £25.00 item with £3.50 shipping the payment fee is £1.13, so you receive £23.87. A Boosted Listing adds 12% of the item price when a boosted listing sells, which takes that to £20.87.
What Vinted takes from you
Vinted charges sellers no selling fee, no listing fee and no subscription. The item price goes to your Vinted Balance in full, and the buyer pays postage separately.
That makes Vinted simple for the seller, and it moves the cost to the buyer. Vinted updated its UK pricelist on 8 Oct 2026.
What the buyer pays on top
Buyers see an item price plus a fee on both apps, and that can change what they will pay. Depop publishes only a ceiling for its buyer fee. Vinted publishes a usual range and not the exact curve.
| Item price | Depop buyer fee, most | Vinted buyer fee, range | Depop total, most (with £3.50 shipping) | Vinted total, range (with £3.50 shipping) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| £10.00 | £1.50 | £0.60 to £1.60 | £15.00 | £14.10 to £15.10 |
| £25.00 | £2.25 | £1.05 to £2.80 | £30.75 | £29.55 to £31.30 |
| £50.00 | £3.50 | £1.80 to £4.80 | £57.00 | £55.30 to £58.30 |
| £100.00 | £6.00 | £3.30 to £8.80 | £109.50 | £106.80 to £112.30 |
Depop figures are the most a buyer could pay. Vinted figures are an estimate from the published range and include VAT. Postage on Vinted varies by carrier, so we use the same shipping figure on both for comparison.
On a £25.00 item the Depop buyer fee is at most £2.25, and the Vinted fee runs from £1.05 to £2.80. At the top of its range Vinted costs the buyer more, so a Depop buyer may pay less in total.
What to list at on Depop to match Vinted
If you sell the same item on both, you can raise the Depop price so you receive what Vinted would pay. This table asks the Depop engine for the price that leaves you with the Vinted amount.
| Vinted price | You receive on Vinted | Depop price to match | Depop price is higher by |
|---|---|---|---|
| £10.00 | £10.00 | £10.71 | £0.71 |
| £25.00 | £25.00 | £26.16 | £1.16 |
| £100.00 | £100.00 | £103.40 | £3.40 |
Same £3.50 shipping on Depop and no item cost. The matching price is rounded to the penny.
Matching needs £0.71 extra on the £10.00 item and £3.40 extra on the £100.00 item. A higher Depop price also raises the buyer's fee there.
Choosing on fees alone
Over a year the gap adds up. If you sell 100 items at £25.00 with £3.50 shipping, Vinted leaves you £113.00 more than Depop, and £413.00 more than Depop with every sale boosted.
Fees are one input. Reach, buyer habits and how quickly an item sells matter too, and we do not model them. Many sellers list the same item on both, which is where the matching price above helps.
What is estimated, and what is left out
- The Vinted buyer fee is a range. Vinted says it is usually between the two ends and does not publish the exact formula.
- The Depop buyer fee is a ceiling, not the fee on a given order.
- Vinted Item Verification and Buyer Protection Pro are optional buyer extras and are not included.
- Postage on Vinted, sales tax, returns and anything you spend on Bumps or Depop advertising.
