The short answer
For most clothing, Grailed leaves the seller more. Its 6% and 9% commissions plus 3.49% processing stay under eBay's 13.6% at the prices in the table.
The exception is sneakers. eBay charges its sneaker category 8% at $150 and above, which comes to less than Grailed's commission and processing together.
| Item price | Grailed fees | You keep on Grailed | eBay fees | You keep on eBay | Keeps more |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $30 | $4.48 | $25.52 | $6.11 | $23.89 | Grailed |
| $60 | $7.32 | $52.68 | $10.19 | $49.81 | Grailed |
| $100 | $11.12 | $88.88 | $15.63 | $84.37 | Grailed |
| $150 | $20.72 | $129.28 | $22.43 | $127.57 | Grailed |
| $250 | $33.21 | $216.79 | $36.03 | $213.97 | Grailed |
| $500 | $64.44 | $435.56 | $70.03 | $429.97 | Grailed |
Computed by the Grailed and eBay calculators. The buyer pays $12.00 shipping on both and your label costs the same. Domestic buyer on Grailed, most categories rate on eBay, no sales tax.
How Grailed charges
Grailed's commission is 6% on sales under $120, with a $1.99 minimum, and 9% on sales of $120 and above. The lower tier is new from 20 May 2026.
Payment processing is separate: 3.49% plus $0.49 for a domestic buyer, and 4.99% plus $0.49 for an international one. On a $100.00 item that is $4.40 against $6.08.
Buyer location changes only the processing fee, not the commission. At $30.00 the fees take 10.7% of the buyer's total, and at $500.00 they take 12.6%.
The $120 step
Crossing $120 moves the whole sale from 6% to 9%, not just the part above it. Grailed counts item price plus the shipping you charge, so with $12.00 shipping the step sits at a $108.00 item.
A $107.99 item pays $7.20 commission and keeps $96.11. At $108.00 the commission is $10.80 and you keep $92.52, and you only get back to what you kept below the step at $112.10.
With a Grailed Label the commission is on the listing price only, even if you charge shipping. Turn on Grailed Label in the calculator and the step sits at $120 itself: $119.99 keeps $107.69 and $120 keeps $104.10, with $12.00 shipping charged and the same label cost.
| Item price | Grailed commission | You keep on Grailed | You keep on eBay |
|---|---|---|---|
| $107.99 | $7.20 | $96.11 | $91.27 |
| $108.00 | $10.80 | $92.52 | $91.28 |
| $112.10 | $11.17 | $96.11 | $94.82 |
Shipping charged $12.00. The dead zone is the prices from $108.00 up to $112.09, where you keep less than at $107.99. eBay has no such step.
How eBay charges, and the sneaker exception
eBay takes a final value fee on item price, shipping and sales tax, plus $0.30 an order on $10 or less and $0.40 above that. Most clothing falls under the most categories rate of 13.6%.
Sneakers are a separate category. At $150 and above on item plus shipping eBay charges 8% and drops the per-order fee, against 13.6% below it.
On a $200.00 pair eBay keeps $183.04 as sneakers and $170.77 as a general item, against $173.03 on Grailed.
| Where | Fees | You keep |
|---|---|---|
| Grailed | $26.97 | $173.03 |
| eBay, most categories | $29.23 | $170.77 |
| eBay, sneakers (8% at $150 and above) | $16.96 | $183.04 |
Shipping charged $12.00, equal to the label. Fees only, with no item cost.
What to list at for the amount you want
Work backwards from what you need to keep. The table gives the item price that leaves you the amount shown, using Find price in each calculator.
To keep $100.00 you list at $116.55 on Grailed and $118.09 on eBay, so the eBay buyer pays $1.54 more for the same result.
| You want to keep | Grailed list price | eBay list price | eBay price minus Grailed price |
|---|---|---|---|
| $20.00 | $23.89 | $25.50 | $1.61 |
| $50.00 | $57.04 | $60.22 | $3.18 |
| $100.00 | $116.55 | $118.09 | $1.54 |
Same assumptions as above: buyer-paid $12.00 shipping on both, a domestic buyer, most categories on eBay, no item cost.
What the tables leave out
Fees tell you what you keep once an item sells, not how fast it sells. Grailed's buyers are looking for menswear and streetwear, and eBay's are looking for everything, so a lower fee can lose to a faster sale.
- Grailed promotions and seasonal fee discounts, and eBay Store plans and Promoted Listings.
- eBay listing fees after 250 free listings a month, at $0.35 each.
- Sales tax, which eBay charges its fee on and these figures leave out, and any VAT or GST on the Grailed commission.
