Full walkthrough
Stripe takes a percent of the amount the customer pays plus a fixed fee for each payment. Each fee is rounded to the smallest unit of EUR on its own, and amounts here are in EUR.
Here is one payment from the calculator above, worked through. A customer pays €100.00 with the standard EEA card to a Stripe account in Ireland.
- Payment€100.00
- Percent fee1.5% of €100.00-€1.50
- Fixed fee€0.25 on each successful payment-€0.25
- You keep€98.25
Stripe took €1.75 in fees, which is 1.8% of the payment. Standard payouts are free. An instant payout of the €98.25 left would cost €0.98 more.

Stripe fees in Ireland, answered
How much does Stripe charge in Ireland?
On a payment of €100, a standard EEA card costs 1.5% + €0.25, which is €1.75, so you keep €98.25. A premium EEA card (2.8% + €0.25) costs €3.05, a UK card (2.5% + €0.25) €2.75 and an international card (3.15% + €0.25) €3.40. Standard payouts to your bank are free.
Does Stripe charge more for UK cards in Ireland?
Yes. UK cards are priced on their own line, 2.5% + €0.25 against 1.5% + €0.25 for a standard EEA card. On €100 that is €2.75 against €1.75. The calculator also offers the 2% conversion fee on UK cards, which applies when the customer pays in pounds and you are paid in euro.
Does Stripe charge for currency conversion in Ireland?
Stripe adds 2% when a payment needs currency conversion. A UK card paid in pounds on a payment of €100 costs €4.75 (€2.75 card fee plus €2.00 conversion). Standard and premium EEA cards show no conversion fee here.
How much is SEPA Direct Debit on Stripe in Ireland?
SEPA Direct Debit is a flat €0.35 per payment whatever the amount. That is €0.35 on €100 and still €0.35 on €1,000, where a standard EEA card would cost €15.25.
Are Stripe fees in Ireland the same as in Germany and France?
Stripe's Germany and France pages show the same online card rates as Ireland: 1.5% + €0.25 for standard EEA cards, 2.8% + €0.25 for premium, 2.5% + €0.25 for UK cards and 3.15% + €0.25 for international cards. The SEPA Direct Debit fee, the instant payout fee and the dispute fee match too. This page is built from the Irish pricing page.
How much does a Stripe instant payout cost in Ireland?
An instant payout is 1% of the amount paid out, with a €0.50 minimum. Pay out the €98.25 left from a standard payment of €100 and the fee is €0.98. Standard payouts are free.
What is the Stripe dispute fee in Ireland?
Stripe charges €20 for each dispute you receive. On a standard payment of €100 that takes what you keep from €98.25 to €78.25 before the disputed payment itself, which is held and lost unless you win. Responding manually adds a countered fee of the same amount, returned if you win.
How much should I charge to keep a set amount after Stripe fees in Ireland?
To keep €100 from a standard EEA card, charge €101.78. From a UK card with currency conversion, charge €104.97. Switch the calculator to Find price and it solves this for any card, bank debit, payout or dispute.

How we checked every number
Every number on this page comes from one data file, checked against Stripe's own Ireland pricing page on 20 Oct 2026. The calculator, the worked example, the tables and the FAQ all read from it, so they cannot disagree.
Fees are rounded one at a time. Where Stripe's page was unclear or we could not confirm a rate, we left the option out instead of guessing.
What we could not confirm or do not model
- Stripe shows pricing by the visitor's location, and the US page was read with the country set to the United States. A visitor in another country may see a different page.
- Stripe does not say how it rounds each fee. The calculator rounds each fee half-up to the cent. Stripe's UK page calls its accelerated checkout "Onelink" in places, at the same rates as cards.
- Where a card has an international surcharge it is shown as its own line on top of the domestic rate, as Stripe lists it. Where Stripe lists a separate total rate, that rate is used.
- An instant payout fee is worked out on the amount paid out. The calculator assumes you pay out this payment's net amount after processing fees, in the same currency.
- A dispute adds Stripe's dispute received fee. If you respond manually there is a countered fee of the same amount, which Stripe returns when you win. The disputed amount itself and the optional Smart Disputes fee are not modelled.
- Manually entered cards, in-person Terminal and Tap to Pay, Klarna and other local methods, Stripe Billing, Tax, Invoicing, Connect and Managed Payments have their own rates and are not modelled.
- Stripe Ireland shows no Terminal card rates, and Germany and France show the same online card rates as Ireland.
