DeskPort Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-14
DeskPort (package com.deskport.app) is an Android app developed by an individual developer, Prasanth T ("we", "us"). This policy explains what DeskPort does and does not do with information.
Summary
- DeskPort does not collect personal data.
- There is no account, and there are no ads.
- Your settings are stored only on your phone.
- If you turn on notifications on the monitor, they are processed on your phone only and are never stored or shared.
- No crash reports or analytics are collected in the current version.
Information we collect
We do not collect, store or share personal data. DeskPort does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos or messages, and it does not track you across apps or websites.
Settings stored on your device
DeskPort saves your preferences (for example theme, window layouts, shortcuts and desktop arrangement) locally on your phone. This data never leaves your device through DeskPort. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes it.
Shizuku and system access
DeskPort needs the free Shizuku app to start apps on an external display. Shizuku is a separate, open-source tool that lets you grant an app limited system-level access after you approve it. You set it up once with Developer options and Wireless debugging, and after each phone restart you open Shizuku and tap Start. DeskPort uses this access only to place and manage app windows on the connected display and to provide touchpad, keyboard and window features. DeskPort does not use it to read your personal content, and it does not transmit anything it sees to us or anyone else. Shizuku is governed by its own terms and privacy practices.
Notification access (optional)
If you choose to show your phone's notifications on the monitor, Android asks you to give DeskPort notification access. DeskPort uses this access only to read the notifications on your phone while it runs and to show them on your connected monitor, for example in a notification panel and as pop-ups. The notification content (app name, icons and, only if you choose to show message text, the title and message) is processed on your device only. It is held in memory while needed, is never written to storage, is never sent to us or anyone else, and is never shared. By default the monitor shows only the app name. You can choose to show message text. Notifications marked secret, notifications from other profiles and anything while your phone is locked are always hidden. You can turn this off at any time in DeskPort settings or in Android's notification access settings, which stops all reading of notifications. The feature is optional and DeskPort works without it.
Crash reporting
The current version of DeskPort does not collect crash reports or analytics. If a future version adds optional crash reporting, it will be off until you opt in, and this policy will be updated before that version is released.
Purchases
DeskPort Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play Billing. Google processes your payment and purchase details under Google's own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment information. Refunds and purchase issues are handled through Google Play.
Permissions
DeskPort requests only the Android permissions needed for its features, and the setup helper explains them in the app. Permissions are not used to collect personal data.
Children
DeskPort is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will help.
Data retention and your choices
Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to retrieve or delete on our side.. You may opt out at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Online wallpapers (optional)
If you open the Online tab in wallpaper settings, DeskPort downloads the wallpaper list and the images you choose from the DeskPort website (hosted on GitHub Pages). Like any website, GitHub may log the request, including your IP address, under GitHub's own privacy policy. DeskPort sends nothing about you with these requests. If you never open the Online tab, the app makes no such requests.
