Terms of use
Effective date: 2026-10-14
These terms apply to your use of the DeskPort app (package com.deskport.app) and this website. DeskPort is made by an individual developer, Prasanth T ("we", "us"). By installing or using DeskPort you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
License to use
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use DeskPort on Android devices you own or control, for your own use. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or sublicense the app, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows it. Parts of DeskPort build on open-source software, which stays under its own licenses (for example scrcpy and the Shizuku API, both Apache License 2.0).
Free version and Pro
DeskPort has a free version and an optional Pro upgrade. Pro is a one-time purchase made through Google Play. It is not a subscription and does not renew. Payment, taxes and receipts are handled by Google Play under Google's terms. See our refund policy.
Pro unlocks the features listed on the Google Play page and on our home page at the time you buy. DeskPort will keep changing: we may add, change, rework or remove features, including how features are split between free and Pro, for example to follow Android changes, fix problems or improve the app. We will not remove the core Pro features you paid for without good reason, such as a change in Android or Google Play that makes them impossible.
Acceptable use
- Use DeskPort lawfully and only on devices and displays you are allowed to use.
- Do not use DeskPort to break the rules of other apps or services, to bypass content protection (DRM) or to get around licensing controls.
- Do not try to tamper with purchases, unlock Pro without paying, or interfere with how the app works for others.
Shizuku and third-party apps
DeskPort needs Shizuku, a separate app that we do not make or control. Shizuku, Google Play, Android, your phone maker's software and the apps you run in DeskPort windows are provided by other parties under their own terms. We are not responsible for them, for changes they make, or for apps that do not work well in windows or on an external display (for example apps that use DRM). Phone makers may change their software in ways that stop DeskPort from working on a given phone.
Your responsibility
Driving an external display can warm your phone and use more battery. You are responsible for how you use your device, including keeping it charged, cool and backed up.
No warranty
DeskPort is provided "as is" and "as available". We try to make it reliable, but we do not promise that it will work on every device, be uninterrupted or be free of errors, to the extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or device performance arising from your use of DeskPort. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that cannot be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Changes will be posted here with a new effective date. If you keep using DeskPort after a change, you accept the updated terms.
